In the midst of this cruel healing...

so much for coming home with the big goal of pounding out some homework. True, I did get my agenda book up-to-date, and finished off my computer usage assignment that took me waaaay longer than it should have to complete.

I am no longer ahead of the game in any of my classes, but I'm not behind, which I suppose is all I can hope for. I've already gotten a group case presentation out of the way, and I have an individual one due Thursday, which is pretty much all that I have on the horizon for this week due date-wise. My marketing classes both have final group projects and presentations, however, that we need to start prepping for.

TA-ing is going well, but it will likely be a mad-house on Tuesday as the first assignment is due on Wednesday. I'm also getting a lot of shifts at TM *knock on wood*, which is great for me, as the sooner I can pay everyone back, the better (and the less stress I'll have next term)

My costume is progressing nicely. I need to finish making my head (I'm being animal from the Muppets) and work on a few minor things, but I shouldn't have too much work ahead of me. I need to put it on the back burner for this week though, while I take care of bidness.

it's time to start the show!

2 weeks later, and I think I'm well into the swing of school. I'm a couple of weeks ahead in my comp usage class which will be beneficial later in October, when I start having more to do in my other 2 classes. I also have a lot of work to do on my Hallowe'en costume: I'm being Animal from the Muppets! Should be a hoot, as we're all going as a group.

I didn't get quite as many shifts for october as I had hoped, so I'm going to see if I can pick some up, then maybe my debt will be paid off by Christmas? Gah, I hate having to think that far in advance. I'm already planning christmas presents though...they are going to be homemade, either food or crafts.

Time for bed, I work everyday this week!

i heard it through the grapevine...

gah! To things not turning out like I wanted to on my excel spreadsheet schedule...though, other to-do items made up for the negatives.

Yay for the Waking Eyes and the Watchmen, hometown heros at the Powerball...really brought up the class of the entire arena, if only for 40% of the time.

Had a panic attack on Hallowe'en, as I had spent the week working on Steve's costume and had but a mere afternoon to work on mine...the needles (yes, the existing needle AND the spare one) broke on my sewing machine, so I was left to do it by hand...I shed some blood in order to look awesome as a California Raisin.


All in all, I think the past week was a success...I saw Lenny Kravitz, the Waking Eyes, the Watchmen, Jet Set Satellite, and Bob Dylan; I was able to mark assignments in record time; I made myself a schedule for the next 2 weeks that i think I'll actually be able to stick to; and I still have tons of candy to last me through at least the next week!

Now it's time to slip into my PJs and quite possibly go AHEAD of schedule...whoohoo!

I am so sick of school, I just want my b.comm and to get out of here! not because my classes are too difficult, but because I'm having a really hard time just getting everything done and work two jobs and keep up with all of my other obligations. I haven't even gotten my Hallowe'en costume yet!

Stuff on the horizon for this week:
-Buying/preparing my Hallowe'en costume
-Working on the BL--we want it out in the first two weeks of November
-Finishing my group's Consumer Behaviour project...it involved doing a photo shoot yesterday morning, while there was a wind warning and everything!
-Start marking for one of my jobs...It takes me so long to get started because my assignments take precedence
-Lenny Kravitz on Wednesday, The Watchmen/Waking Eyes on Thursday, and JET SET SATELLITE on Friday!
-Class: um...now.

It's kind of funny that in order to remember what I've done in the past month, I have to look at what pictures I took.

October 28th was Jet Set Satellite's Hallowe'en Haunt. It was great, especially since the band dressed up!

Sweet, huh? I am currently trying to win a contest to get these guys to play in my house...well, if I won, it'd be at s's house, since his parents are helping tons.

November 12th was Rach's birthday... here are some commemorative pictures:

I think it was so much fun to have both of my sisters, and heather and ashley...yay.

November 17th was insane, as well. It started out with dinner with my sweetie...mmm, Johnny G's famous steak dinner! Delicious as usual.

Then, onward to the Beach Boys! Um...if I did it over again, I probably wouldn't have gone, seeing as our tix were $60. And only one original member, Mike Love, who looked like he was going to break into two at the waist at any moment. He still has wit, at least. Oddly enough, they decided to do covers, like California Dreamin'...why? I know that's a great song, but you have so many songs in your repetoire.
After the Beach Boys, I ran to the Convention Centre--literally sideswiping people. Bathroom line was too long--decided to hold my pee...coatcheck line was too long, decided to hold my coat. Crowd for Sam Roberts was pretty crazy...so many drunk football fans! I didn't manage to find Heather and Ashley until nearly the end of the set, but I still have some fun...Sam was great.

I had my work x-mas party on Friday, November 24. That was fun, because it was also my dad's holiday party (he got me my summer/part-time job)...They had such great prizes that I was quite upset at not winning any. They also had a fun casino. Steve and I had fun playing blackjack.

On Friday, October 13th, I was invited to sing along with George and the Class of '84 at their Shannon's Irish Pub gig; luckily, the friday and the 13th didn't decide to mingle and bring bad luck with them. I did end up editing my 361-ish pictures down to around 200. And I only actually got 45 of them printed when I used up my 200 free prints (thanks, Blacks!) I have a hard time deleting pictures from my computer if they turned out great, but I'm having an easier time not printing them. This stems from previous photo developings and thinking to myself these pictures look identical...WHY did I print them again? And because 200 pictures is a photo album in itself.

The Next Day: The Waking Eyes!
As part of the Western Canadian Music Awards, this band played at the pyramid. Also ended up taking quite a few pictures at this show...I don't believe I've even uploaded them, so they are not going into this post. I managed to meet Chris Nelson, beloved videographer for Musicmusic; specifically, Going Coastal. He was super nice, with much wit. He also happened to mention that the Kid would be in town the following day, also for the WCMA...insert freakout. Shaun, from Wide Mouth Mason.

The Sunday of that weekend began slowly. I was forced into going to a cheap-ass wedding show downtown at a hotel, where we had to listen to a terrible wedding singer butcher his way through "Kiss" and "Hard to Handle" (I have video of this one to prove it!).

On our quest to find Shaun, we snagged some free shwag at the Western Canadian Music Conference, and eventually walked out of conference's hotel location, accepting defeat...but wait, who's voice do we hear? *sigh*, mission accomplished.

October 24th was the Trews at the U of M. You had to win tix in to this, which I did (I tried so hard, aka, listened to a certain radio station for so long, and finally, they just handed them to me via their mailing list thingy!) I also managed to take a shit load of pictures, though many of them crapped out. Thanks Molson, for providing the trews with such ridiculous lighting, whereas the opening band The Stills had extremely well-done lighting. Thanks.

I DID dress up for Hallowe'en, but I only actually got one picture of me in costume, taken by my friend Brittany. I was Leela from Futurama, and though some say it looked awesome, others couldn't tell who I was. Really, I think that the biggest problem was that Futurama is not nearly as popular as Family Guy or the Simpsons. Oh well.

And I've been strapped down with immense amounts of homework and studying but I don't see a terrible amount of things in the near future, so hopefully my postings on here are slightly more frequent...I know how you guys must feel, I am insanely confused when you folks don't update for several days.
