Small Town Love

5 months since my last post. is that a record yet? H was right when she said that school was good for one thing...marking time. It's hard to believe I've been working full-time for that long, as I am still very much on a university mind-set: update blog? no....minesweeper is calling to me!

It hasn't been all slacky...our suite was decorated for Christmas in record time (read: by November 11th!), I've been working a fair amount at the box office, along with my day job, and the Rolling Stones cover band is slowly getting back to practicing on a regular basis. Hopefully we can start getting our gig-on. That'd be fun!

Top 5 awesome things that happened this week:
  • Bought an exercise ball. Fun to sit on, and maybe I'll do some stretching on it...
  • Got an unlimited IMAX pass..."The Alps: Climb of Your Life" is in my near future. Steve got one too, and H is planning on getting one as well1
  • 2 band practices (well, in the last 8 days, I suppose). We're sounding great, I think! we need a BIT more practice to just boost our confidence in knowing the songs, but I think we're a great fit, member-wise
  • Received an EP from Great Bloomers...*swoon*! Definitely cannot wait until they make the trek to Winnipeg again!
  • Updated my blog. too soon?

tall skinny macchiato coming up!

whoooooo post-christmas post!

some of the load:
-new beautiful pillows that allow me to sleep until noon
-AC/DC - Black Ice
-socks, a sweater, change purses to attend the bar with me
-AN ESPRESSO MAKER!!!

I really should be taking pictures of everything I make, just as a record. On Christmas I made chai lattes; today I made double espressos, an Americano, and a Caramel Latté (essentially, a Caramel macchiato minus the caramel sizzurp on top). It's a matter of perfecting everything--how much water to run through the espresso, how to better produce microfoam, how many ounces of syrup to put in each cup, and the list goes on. I need espresso drinkers to come and help me experiment.

Aaaand I bought myself skis! It was a big investment (note: they are an asset, not an expense, as they will come in handy many times over).

So now I have a full week and a half with no work, no school so I think I'm going to work at de-cluttering my office and perfecting my barista skills...again.

brother DOWN

Group project is DONE! And good riddance! Now I can focus on studying for exams, writing 2 papers, and working on my Christmas list.

December is shaping up to be quite relaxing and fun...we've got one birthday party, a x-mas party that steve is DJ-ing at (which means excellent music, if I do say so myself), Commerce Christmas Social (involving getting dressed up which is always fun), and not a whole lot of work. Well, we'll see if I like that last point. I was hoping to get a lot more work at TM in over this term since I wouldn't be TA-ing for Computer Usage, but with my new initiative to take 5 courses, I doubt I'll have more time that I had this term.

Back to the grind...I have one more chapter to read for Cost Accounting before hitting the hay (aka, my bed which has new sheets - thanks Auntie!), one more day of classes, 3 exams, 1 take-home exam, and 1 more TA shift, and 1 more assignment to mark (x 150 students). Wish me luck!
