ride on

OMFG. Haha, I had to explain what this meant to my mother yesterday, and I think that's funny in its own right.

I am DONE my papers for Canadian History so all I have left to do for tonight is study for cost accounting. Hmm...all. Meaning 1 mock exam and as many of the 6 in-class question sets that I have and then hoping for the best.

Yesterday night I had a dream that I went to AC/DC in Fargo and I forgot my ticket at home and so my boss from TM and I had to go to the box office and get the other ticket, and the employee there realized she knew me, and I was late getting into the concert. When I woke up abruptly, I sat up, it was scary!

At least, being done my Canadian History take-home, I'll be able to relax tomorrow after writing my exam and helping invigilate for Comp Usage. Plus, I have to work on my hat for Andrea's birthday...we've decided to go animal themed and I have an idea for mine...

This will give you an idea of how CRAZY we get with our hats. yes, this Saturday should turn out just fine...

how's it going to be?

Correction: DON'T have the Accounting case under control because it just so happens group members love to NOT e-mail their progress to me until the night before it's due (and only after much prodding), only to simply send something that was ctrl+c'd and ctrl+v'd off the web. Fantastic.

At least I have my fantastic new fridge that I won at a social this weekend...I no longer have to leave my office to get fully caffeinated! That corona is certainly looking good right about now...

it is the storm before the calm

I'm getting overwhelmed again...here I thought we had my accounting case study under control and let's just say that was a whole lotta gobbledy gook. I can barely understand my accounting work after it's marked, so it's even harder to figure out what other people were doing.

I've done as much as I can for now, because I'm waiting for other people to get stuff to me. I have 2 more school-related things on my to-do list, as well as taking a shower and I don't know if I'll get to all of these items tonight.

H, you are actually going to get a birthday present on time! You should be so proud of Rach and me, but you should also be shaking your finger that it took us away from precious study time, and that it was on Black Friday, too.

So I'm a complete doofus and I was thinking that I could actually graduate by January of next year, but...it means I won't have a relaxing summer. Still...I could try? It'll mean 5 courses next term, 3 during the summer (with 2 being by distance ed) and then 4 in the Fall. Let's just say I won't be doing a whole lotta working during that time.

'juno about the Junos?

The junos sucked this year. Please have a host that won't win more than 50% of the awards. Please research information for opening speech (Chris Murphey is NOT from the prairies (although I wish he could be my homeboy!) Please don't show Chad Kroeger with flatironed hair--now he doesn't look like the might JC. And why not nominate some middle-of-the-road artists instead of either: ones that no one has heard of; ones that have supersaturated Canada and are looking to diffuse into America)

On another note, my fears have rotated.

I'm done my last Stats assignment that needs to be handed in. I finished both accounting assignments that are to be handed in this week (and along with that, done all the reading). I never have anything to do in Management Science.

Now, I have to worry about Admin Theory. I failed the midterm in that course with a miserable 45%. The first ever thing that I've failed that really counted (the only other time: a grade 4 french test on the body parts...and that's because I had just gotten back from having the flu) so I'm really looking towards my paper and final exam upping my mark. My paper is interesting. It's going to be about my time at McDonalds, oh so long ago. It's quite difficult to look back at my life and separate me from the "us".
I am supposed to be critical of both strengths and weaknesses in the organization. I'm finding it hard to do both because when I start thinking of one shitty thing, a couple more fall out of the woodwork. And because I can see the intent of some good organizational concepts, but know why they were flawed. Should I even talk about all of the great skills this job has provided me with, as it is asked on every job interview I will ever go on?
Just writing in here brings about some old memories, and makes me want to change the three concepts I've already decided to use. But I feel much more confident in this new one.

I think this has made me a bit more interested in finishing my paper. But not tonight. Tonight, I sleep.

And maybe I will eventually post my paper, if I'm proud of it.

7 more days of school.

kicking ass and taking names.

gaaah, if today couldn've been any crazier.

First of all, yes yes, I downloaded flock again. whoo hoo!

My classes today weren't even that bad--my org. theory teacher reminds me so much of Colin Quinn (that's a good thing), therefore, super funny. Management Science, so far, is the easiest course ever--break-even analysis? Come On! My teacher sounds like the snobby French stereotype that says "hahaha"--you know you've heard it before--but he actually talks like that all the time! And he made two mistakes today in class and after one correction, a classmate pointed out the other error and he said "What happened?...".

My training wasn't that bad. I didn't deal with any customers today and I'm sort of scared about selling tickets--it just seems so permanent! But co-workers seem cool, work environment is cool, etc etc.

I've been having trouble with WEB CT, the web-based program for the U of M since this term started. First it wouldn't show my new managerial accounting course, then it did, then it didn't again, and now the reason it isn't showing up is apparently that I have outstanding fees. Despite the fact that fees are due NEXT WEEK. Douchebags. If I can't get the homework done during my spare tomorrow before my acc class, I'm kicking ass and taking names.

Bed time.

I can still smile...

What a great escape from studying.

I had been cooped up in my house studying for the past two days, and tonight, I first went out with my mum to buy boots (we succeeded!). Then, Heather came by to pick me up and we had a ridiculously hard time finding a parking spot in a neighbourhood where the CN holiday train was going to stop. We ran as fast as we could considering h still has pneumonia and we both were weighed down with boots, long johns, mittens, and bulky cameras. Still, we made it long before the train arrived, and with ample time to find Holly (who just came home this evening from ottawa) and Blaine.

Sure, Wide Mouth Mason played 3 songs--way too short of a set, but it was awesome. The boys always make the hardcores feel special with their special acknowledgements onstage.

I took an insane amont of pictures, 206, for the length of the set, haha...but I cut it down to 75.

Aww, yeah.

Anywho, I'm off to bed, then work, and then home to stress about studying. I had the goal of finishing two chapters of accounting a day, then doing midterms (and while doing this, also studying for my 4 other subjects) but the only thing I've studied so far is two chapters of accounting in 2 days...no other subjects. So I'm going to have to make the best out of my time on the bus tomorrow, read at least one chapter, possibly two from the textbook. Then do the questions for both tomorrow, and then at least I'll be sort of caught up. We'll see.

I'm so busy worrying about accounting that I haven't had time to worry about computer science, despite having my c.s. exam 2 days before acc...grr. Although I beat S on almost all of the assignments, he's totally gonna kick my ass on the test, as I don't really know what I'm doing half the time.

Gah. I'd better get to bed while the thoughts of wide mouth mason dance in my head, not accumulated amortization.
