hear ye, an update!

it's almost that time of year again; that's right, new agenda time. and because of my super short memory, I'd better update in here so that I don't forget everything that's happened in August.

August 5th, 2006:

Preeceville! We left mid-morning. Saskatchewan is pretty boring, but a few noteables: HUUUGE lineups at every Tim's along the way; Skatch's slogan, Saskatchewan, Naturally (this kept us amused for the rest of the trip, as we made up new slogans such as, Saskatchewan: we have lots of hay and Saskatchewan: the world is our toilet--more on that later).

Our Hojo in Yorkton was pretty terrible, we were down to one orthopedic pillow, which Heather took under her wing (head?...) and the water actually made you feel more dirty than before you took a shower.

The concert was in a big dirt field. Combine that with high winds of 70km/h and you have a big mess...I had dirt in my waterbottle, dirt in our shoes, dirt up our noses...the whole works.

Jet Set Satellite was great. I was glad that the people who came also thought so. here are some pictures:

Whee! So for Kenny Shields and Streetheart we stayed inside B's new super fantabulous van. We started to realize how much people PEE at festivals. Everyone had decided to use our van as a blockage, I suppose because it's higher than an average vehicle, and so one time, we turned on the alarm to frighten the offender, and another time, we turned on the alarm; upon no reaction, we drove away, leaving the offender quite...out in the open. Hence our made-up Saskatchewan slogan.

Wide Mouth Mason: It is always a treat to see them, since they don't come to Winnipeg as much as they used to. It's sad that Saf hasn't been drumming with them forawhile, but I have to add a congrats, as he got hitched awhile back. Some noteables of the noteables:

More pictures of WMM to be added once Photobucket stops hatin' on me.

Let's see, what else happened in August? Oh yes, my birthday party. Held on August 19th, we had a plethora of guests, from out-of-town guest, to family, to friends, to neighbours. Erm, pictures of that to come as well, once PB likes me again. We had fun, I was pretty drunk, you know it's a good time when you pass out on your bed and your friend walks by and tells you the next day that "it looks like you got shot". Haha. Poklitar played, featuring poklitar. Holly, that is.

August 20th--the date of my birthday. Went to dinner with our aunt who was visiting from ontario, that was a good time--at my fave restaurant, Johnny G's.

August 22nd - Ben Lee! the opening band, the Suits XL were nothing to write home about, but Ben. Always entertaining. He covered "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet. I will upload it to youtube or something as soon as I get it under 100 MB.

August 24th - Hall and Oates! This was an awesome concert, my dad and Holly went with me. everyone was yelling out requests and during one particular break, H yelled out "take off your shirt". The band didn't know how to respond. What makes it even more hilarious is that H&O tape every show, and sell copies off their website. Which means my sister is on the record, literally, saying "take off your shirt".

More updates in the next while...for now, I have to have a shower and get ready for late night bingo. Whoot whoot!
