My holiday was pretty good, even if it wasn't completely without stress.
We left around suppertime on Friday, and didn't get to Minneapolis until 1:30am...which meant we were all pretty tired the next day, thought we didn't all show it.
On Saturday, we hit on Guitar Center, and went onward to the Mall of America. It took me and the girls 3 hours to do the first floor! Needless to say, we were exhausted, and we still had to go to IKEA! About 4+ hours after we had begun, we dropped off our purchases at our motel. For me, that included: 2- $4 pairs of Airwalk shoes, thank you Payless; 2 check-mark shelves for cds, magazine holders, a paper file, and more storage. Yay, IKEA! I'll come back to you when I actually have my own house for which to purchase things. Went out for lunch and supper to the Rainforest Café and the Cheesecake Factory, respectively. Man, is it expensive to eat out. Especially in the U.S. where you have to tip plenty because they haven't heard of something called a semi-livable minimum wage.
That evening, Rach and I hit the whirlpool, where we met our own kind, Winnipeggers, as well as some crazy cougars--one was dating the other's son--who just had to smoke their menthols while in the whirlpool.
Sunday involved IKEA and breakfast. I must add that some breakfasts were hurt during the making of this story. harhar. Hm.., well yes. $0.99 breakfast, $1 for a cinnamon bun, $1 for pop or $0.75 for coffee. Heart!
We finished off the MOA and then went on rides in the park formerly known as Camp Snoopy. Fun times with the sisters!
Walmart! We used the self-checkout which was pretty cool. I got a shirt that says "TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!" (animal house!) and one that says "Don't you [picture of the Breakfast Club] (forget about me)". Yay.
Whirlpool and sauna again that night, but this time, with Holly. We managed to catch the cougs for the tailend of our trip there...
Monday involved more IKEA and more breakfast. High-5, Blaine! Hehe, he's hooked! Then onward to Willy's guitar shop! I bought some very pretty guitar picks. To be made into earrings as soon as I have time.
We went to the Albertville Outlet Mall, but I didn't find much...only a pair of pants.
Got home around 11:30ish.
Worked Tuesday morning, went to Steve's afterwards, and after supper, we were off to see the Cult with our more than 50% off seats. Before we actually went to the MTS centre, we stopped for drinks at the rooftop at Tavern United. $3.75 daquiris! Whoot! Everyone should go there and try the Rasperry one, it's the shit.
Had yesterday off and went to breakfast with the beau. Stopped at Ragpickers (going back on Saturday w/him to try on shirts for grad) and then slurpees and then back to his house!
Worked today and made mondo tips, which is good because this is going to be a very costly summer. I love you, concerts, but please come in moderation, I need to be able to afford university this year!
regards,
Nicole
