the limelight

Oh my goodness. I've waited 4 years, and I finally saw Colin James last night. It was amazing. We got there semi-early for a bar gig, which left ample room at the front of the stage. Colin Linden, opening act and backing guitarist for the current Colin James band was pretty cool. I love steel guitar, it sucks because the sound was going wonky for only that guitar.

We made friends with a security guard, he actually was a really nice guy, commented on our twin Wide Mouth Mason shirts (he was actually at the last show), and bought 2 pairs of guitar pick earrings (I brought them to give to the bands).

Setlist: (Italics were not played, bold were added in)
Better Way to Heaven
Watching the River Flow
Limelight
Write the Book
Live the Life I Love / National
Shadow of Love
Far Away Like a Radio
I'll See It Through
That's Where It's At
Real Stuff
Losing You
Make a Mistake
Fill You Up
Saviour
Keep on Lovin'

Encore:
Mystic
Voodoo Thing
Freedom (Night is Young)
Nothing You Can Do (I can't remember!)

Come Back Baby
Travelin
Stupidity
Speakeasy

So there was a LOT of stuff off Limelight, which is not my favourite CJ album, but it's still good, and an especially good live album.

Steve's here so I suppose this will have to do for a review! mwah!
